2007 Videos
So here’s the deal, I got so caught up with videotaping my animated displays this year that I forgot to take any pictures.
Crazy, huh?  Well, lucky me, the videos turned out pretty good.
Manheim Steamroller’s Jingle Bells
I worked my butt off on this one.  Took me 4 months to finally muddle through it.  When It was done… it looked nice but
didn’t WOW like I though it would.  I’m not giving up on Manhiem Steamroller though, I’ll be doing Silent Night next year.
Carol of the Bells
Very pretty song.  Looked nice too.  What I liked about this song was that it repeated a lot, so I was able to cut and
paste a lot on my sequences.  I’ll be repeating this song next year but with a different group.  A group call “The Bird and
the Bee”  recorded a very different version that I think will do nicely for a change of pace.
Disney’s Sleigh Ride
Again another song that went well with the Characters.  The song had various Disney characters singing bits of the
song.  It was unfortunate that I couldn’t highlight that with the lighted Characters.  I only had 16 channels and couldn’t
afford any channels for this task.  In the future when I have more channels I’ll be able to do it justice.
Wizards in Winter
It could safely be said that this tune was the inspiration for many of the synchronized houses out there.  Interestingly
enough, I had never seen the infamous YouTube version until I was on the Light-O-Rama Website trying to decided if I
wanted to go with LOR or Animated Lighting.  I included it this year for two reasons.  I downloaded the sequence from
the internet (so I didn’t have to do much work to make it work for my display)  and I thought that people would get a kick
out of it.  Sure enough, this tune was consistently a crowd pleaser.  Frequently causing large amounts of people to stop
in their tracks slackjawed.   I’m still debating on whether I’ll be including it next year.  I’ll have to do a great deal of
modifying it for the 80 channels.
Disney’s Haunted Mansion
Well, since our opening night crowds are massive, I didn’t want to be trying out a new technology right off the bat.  I
experimented with Halloween.  I used to decorate a bit for Halloween but this year I really went all out.  Most of my tunes
were courtesy of another Light-O-Rama user (The wife of NWSanta on the LOR boards)  along with the wonderful idea
of the singing pumpkin chorus.  I only video taped my own animation though.  It turned out pretty good.  I should have
taped at dusk though.  It’s pretty hard to see at times.
Not very Christmasy, but it worked well with the Disney Characters.  I decided that this would be the
last year for them until I re-wrapped them with LED lighting.  I’d like to animate the characters with
the lights.
